Bringing Time-Honoured Traditions Into Play

Golf is an ancient story of passion and invention, of honourable traditions and a heritage passed over continents and through centuries. Since its earliest origins on the eastern coast of Scotland in the 15th century, the game of golf has captured the hearts, minds and imaginations of men and women around the world.

Like the game itself, the story of golf in Sarasota began in Scotland with a man name John Hamilton Gillespie. In the late 1880s, Gillespie traveled to the wild lands of “Sara Sota” with his clubs in hand and a vision for what this land of natural beauty could become.

There are select, coveted places that carry on the venerable traditions of the game in the modern day. Places that echo legend and lore swept from the links of days past. Today, there comes a new traditional golf club inspired by the ancient story of golf as it was told in Sarasota: The Founders Club.
