Golf Plus: Swindell Leaves Cardinal Mooney Team

Sep. 11--Kristin Swindell, a sophomore at Braden River High, has elected to leave the Pirates girls golf team to train on a regular basis after school with instructor Tim Sheredy at the Champions Academy located at The Founders Golf Club in Sarasota.

Swindell, who won the Class 1A-District 16 high school title as a freshman and captured the City of Sarasota Girls 14-and-Under title, joins such top juniors as Jessica Korda and sisters Isabelle and Daniela "Crash" Lendl.

"We're doing what we feel is in the best interest of making her a better player," said her father, Jeff Swindell. "Kristin's goals are different than her (ex-) high school teammates. She wants to get a Division I scholarship."
