Todd Johnston Homes presents exquisite Villa Carina in The Founders Club on February 25-26
SARASOTA, FL—In the fourth of five consecutive weekends of model openings, the Founders Club introduces the Villa Carina by Todd Johnston Homes on Saturday and Sunday, February 25-26. The spectacular home is in the Estates section of The Founders Club, the private, 700-acre golf course community just off Fruitville Road in Sarasota, 3.1 miles east of I-75 exit 210. Those wishing to visit the Villa Carina can schedule a private tour by calling 941-378-0900.
“The Villa Carina is our flagship,” says Todd Johnston, president of the company he founded in 1979. “It's a big home with a lot of great details." The home provides 8,334 square feet under air as well as a motor court, a carriage house and guest house, a pool area and a second-floor verandah. “We’ve chosen every one of our homesites in The Founders Club with a careful eye to its views,” Johnston says. “The most stunning feature of the Villa Carina can be seen from the verandah of the second-floor bonus room, overlooking the lush green fairways. The view goes on forever.”
The Villa Carina encompasses a main house with two-car garage, connected by a porte cochere to the carriage house, which has a second two-car garage with attached two-story guest suite. The main house has four bedrooms, each with its own private bath. "The master suite is stunning! It has a fabulous bath with a built-in sauna and an awesome sitting area overlooking the pool and the championship course," Johnston says.
“We have built 24-foot-high ceilings into the first floor of the main house. They give a huge sense of openness in the living room, dining room and family room, and we’ve positioned them to take advantage of the beautiful golf course vistas.” The home also has a gourmet kitchen and study, and the second floor boasts a fully contained home theatre.
The carriage house, with private motor court, provides its own separate kitchen, living area and bedroom with full bath.
"The Villa Carina follows an Italian villa motif," Johnston says. "Our design idea was to convey a very earthy sense. We have used a lot of stone products and natural wood, including wooden beams and rough-hewn cedar." The outdoor areas will also be special, he adds. "This home will provide a pool and spa area featuring a pergola and fountains."
The fully furnished Villa Carina is priced at $5,900,000 and is offered as an 18-month leaseback at $32,000 per month, Johnston says.
Todd Johnston Homes is building its custom homes in several sections of The Founders Club. The company is one of five builders chosen to build within this gated community. The others are John Cannon Homes, Lee Wetherington Companies, Pruett Builders Inc., and Taylor Woodrow Homes.
At buildout, The Founders Club will contain only 262 homes. Every homesite is 200 feet deep, and all are strategically placed around the already completed golf course designed by the acclaimed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Equity memberships in the member-owned, 18-hole, par-72 golf course are limited to 275.
Developers of The Founders Club are U. S. Assets Group, headed by partners Tom Brown and Jay Tallman, and The Starling Group, headed by Fred Starling. U.S. Assets Group has an extensive record of developing luxury homes and communities. In the Sarasota area, these include Beau Ciel, en Provence and the Orchid Beach Club. The Starling Group is highly regarded for its high-end commercial developments.
