Lee Wetherington Companies makes six sales during first week of May
SARASOTA , FL— Lee Wetherington Companies sold almost one home a day during the first week of May, closing out the week with six sales, according to Lee Wetherington, president. “Prices are stabilizing and buyers are entering the market again,” Wetherington says. The sales included inventory homes as well as to-be-built homes. “This is a strong indication that home buyers once again recognize the benefits of buying a new home instead of purchasing an existing one,” he says.
“Our new homes all meet and exceed the new hurricane codes,” Wetherington says. “In addition, as an official ENERGY STAR Partner and Green Builder, we use environmentally aware practices and provide extensive new-home warranties. These advantages are not available in most existing homes. Our new home buyers enjoy immediate savings on their energy bills, help to protect the environment, experience more comfortable living and usually find that their homes retain value.”
Named “America’s Best Builder” by Builder magazine and the National Association of Home Builders, Lee Wetherington Companies is the area’s leader in environmentally aware building practices, based on comments by third-party rating companies. The locally based custom home builder has employed Green Building practices for every home contracted after March 1, 2005 and ENERGY STAR standards for every contract accepted after November 1, 2007. The company completed its 250th Green Built Home last summer, following practices it has used for years, Wetherington says.
Lee Wetherington Companies currently offers its award-winning, energy-efficient homes in several Sarasota and Manatee County communities at prices from the mid-$300Ks to over $1 million. In Manatee County, the company builds homes in Rye Wilderness, 2.4 miles north of SR 64; and several neighborhoods in Lakewood Ranch: Country Club East (Leopard Creek/Valdarrama, Camargo/Royal Valley); The Lake Club, Greenbrook Preserve and Greenbrook Ravines. In Sarasota County, the builder offers homes in Tuscana, on Proctor Road 0.4 miles east of I-75; in The Founders Club, an enclave of exclusive homes and private golf course on Fruitville Road three miles east of I-75; in Willow Chase, on Laurel Road in Venice; in The Forest at Hi Hat Ranch, five miles east of I-75 exit 205 on Clark Road; and in Gran Paradiso at the West Villages, at U.S. 41, three miles south of Jacaranda Boulevard in North Port.
