Taylor Woodrow's Central Florida division reported a 31 percent increase in new-home sales in its communities in Sarasota, Manatee and Hillsborough counties for the year.
Sales in 2005 topped $113 million from 182 homes sold, compared to $86.1 million in 2004. The average new home price was $621,253 including homesite, the company said in a release.
Communities that experienced the strongest sales increase for Taylor Woodrow included Palma Sola Trace in Bradenton and Grand Hampton in New Tampa. Palma Sola Trace is a 104-acre, 546-home community on 75th Street West north of Cortez Boulevard. Taylor Woodrow offers single-family residences there as well as condominiums, with pricing beginning at $300,000 and $240,000 respectively.
Bradenton-based Taylor Woodrow recently sold out in Grand Hampton, an 1,100-home community that also offered 52 executive residences.
In addition to Palma Sola Trace, Taylor Woodrow is developing the Ladera community in Lutz, and is building single-family homes in the communities of Waterchase and Winthrop Village in Hillsborough, as well as The Founders Club in Sarasota.
Taylor Woodrow, with revenues of $1.5 billion in 2004, has 80 active developments throughout Florida, California, Arizona, Texas, and Ontario, Canada. It is a subsidiary of Taylor Woodrow plc, a United Kingdom-based housing development company.
