MONEY: Builder Sponsors Race for Seven Consecutive Years
Lee Wetherington Companies recently presented a check for $5,000 to Bob Sendrey, president of the Friends of Oscar Scherer Park following the Eighth Annual Scrub Jay 5K Race at Oscar Scherer State Park, which was underwritten by a grant from the company, marking the seventh consecutive year the company has been the lead sponsor. The race drew 492 participants from 6 through 93 years old, and raised $7,000 to improve scrub jay habitat and restoration efforts at Oscar Scherer State Park.
Lee Wetherington Companies is locally known for its award-wining homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
